Your files never leave your device

All tools on ToolkitMate run entirely in your web browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. Files and text you process are not uploaded to our servers or any third party. We have no backend that receives your data.

Some tools download processing engines on first use (for example the FFmpeg video engine, OCR language data and AI models for background removal, speech-to-text and text-to-speech) from public CDNs such as jsDelivr and Hugging Face. Only the engine or model is downloaded — your files are never sent. Your browser caches them for future visits.

The voice and screen recorders ask your browser for microphone or screen access. Recordings are kept in memory on your device until you download them or close the page.

When you drop a file on the homepage or search palette and pick a tool, the file is kept for a moment in your browser's IndexedDB so the tool page can open it, then deleted. It never leaves your device.

Your passport & preferences

Your Tool Town passport (which tools you've used and badges earned), your day / night and language choices, and whether Lumo the mascot is tucked away are saved in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device, aren't cookies, and can be cleared at any time from the passport page or your browser settings.

No accounts

We do not offer user accounts and do not collect names, emails or passwords.

Advertising

We use Google AdSense to show ads, which keeps this site free. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or www.aboutads.info. Learn more about how Google uses data from partner sites.

Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland are shown a consent message (provided by Google's certified consent management platform) before personalised ads or cookies are used.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless, to count page views and measure how fast pages load. It records the page address, your browser type and timing data — never the files or text you process — and no personal profile is built.
